After a lot of work and the great effort of members, volunteers and friends of Archipelagos, it is with great joy that we present to you the completion of our new research vessel, repaired and upgraded in Perama (close to Athens).
Today, our new research boat made her first trial voyages and in the following days, as soon as the weather permits it, she will commence her journey towards our research stations in the eastern Aegean. She will start work at once, firstly on the monitoring of illegal and destructive fishing, and secondly by supporting the research groups of Archipelagos in their diverse and significant research efforts taking place in different regions of the Aegean.
We thus welcome to the Archipelagos team this new vessel, which will solve some problems hindering our actions and which will hopefully comprise a valuable tool, largely contributing to our goal: The protection of the marine wealth of the Aegean.
